How do I inquire as to what
vacancies you have at Sanctuary at Saint Mary's
(SMLC) for my loved one?
Please contact the Admission’s Department directly
for any questions about placement for residential care
or short-term rehabilitation placement from a hospital.
What steps do I need to take
to admit the resident/patient to SMLC?
Fill out an application for admission and return it
to SMLC’s admissions department as soon as possible.
You can download the application from the SMLC web site.
The Admission’s Department will contact the responsible
party as soon as the application has been reviewed.
We also encourage families to tour the facility via
the virtual tour on the web site or by stopping by the
facility to walk through.
What types of patients/residents
can you care for?
This depends on the bed availability and the current
level of medical care required at the time of admission.
Sanctuary at Saint Mary's utilizes Case Managers
to assess patient needs and determine whether or not
we can medically meet the individual’s needs.
What are your room rates?
As of 07/01/2003 our room rates are as follows:
Rooms 630 – 601: $200/day
Rooms 201 – 515: $158/day
Rooms on Mercy Terrace: $167/day
The current room rates include room; meals and dietary
services; linens and bedding (including laundering);
laundry services; routine nursing care including administration
of topical, oral, and injectable medications; bathing;
care of skin, mouth, hands, and feet; shampooing and
grooming of hair; normal maintenance therapy and rehabilitative
care and assistance in developing self-care activities;
resident and pastoral care; social and recreational
activities (including the services of a social worker);
and access to a resident trust fund. Sanctuary at Saint Mary's can set up appointments within the facility
or in the community for barber/beautician services,
dentist, podiatrist, and optometry services.
Do you accept Medicare? Medicaid?
Insurance?
Saint Mary’s Mercy Living Center accepts Medicare,
Medicaid and most insurance carriers.
- Medicare: SMLC accepts Medicare payment. Guidelines
for Medicare state that a person must have a consecutive
three-day hospital stay within the last thirty days,
requires care for a condition which was treated in
the hospital, and a doctor’s certification that
the person requires skilled nursing or skilled rehab
services on a daily basis.
- Medicaid: SMLC does accept Medicaid payment. The
admissions department and the Family Independence
Agency have more information on any questions you
may have about Medicaid qualification.
- Insurance: SMLC accepts most forms of Insurance
Payment including long-term care insurance and supplemental
insurance for Medicare.
Do you have private rooms?
SMLC has 3 private rooms and the remainders are semi-private
rooms.
What types of activities (meals)
do you offer?
Please refer to the activity calendar and menu posted
on the web site.
What are your visiting hours?
SMLC does not have set visiting hours. For resident
convenience, we do recommend visiting between the hours
of 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. SMLC has an alarm system for
resident protection after business hours. The alarms
are activated between the hours of 5 p.m. – 8
a.m. on evenings and weekends. Visitors are still able
to visit after the alarm system is activated, by using
a code system to open the door.
What are your staffing ratios?
SMLC staffs at or above state guidelines. State guidelines
are as follows:
1:8 on 1st shift
1:12 on 2nd shift
1:15 on 3rd shift |
